Overview:
The TrueNAS Mini is a compact yet powerful Network Attached Storage (NAS) system that allows you to bring enterprise-class data protection and storage capabilities to the home or office. Despite its small stature, the TrueNAS Mini is serious storage for those that are serious about keeping their data safe.
TrueNAS Minis allow you to easily store and manage your important data using any storage protocol, including NFS, SMB, AFP, iSCSI, S3, and many others. Minis can also be managed from the easy-to-use FreeNAS web interface using any computer or mobile device on your home or business network.
All Minis are backed by the OpenZFS (ZFS) enterprise-class file system that provides software RAID to protect your data from drive failure, data corruption, file deletion, and even malware attacks.
TrueNAS Minis are built with professional-grade components including ECC RAM and IPMI for remote management. Whisper-quiet fans and low power footprints make them ideal for a quiet office environment
TrueNAS Minis can ship with either the latest Stable version of FreeNAS or TrueNAS CORE. All Minis are TrueNAS CORE Ready and can be easily updated.

File Protection and Sharing
Running the world’s number one Open Source storage OS, TrueNAS CORE, the TrueNAS Minis come with all the features you demand. TrueNAS uses the copy-on-write (COW) ZFS file system with unlimited snapshots and checksums that ensures against bit-rot and data loss. Supporting Windows, macOS, Linux, FreeBSD clients, major hypervisors, and even object storage, users have a near-limitless number of ways to share and protect their data.
Cloud and Remote backup
Sync, archive, or backup data to or from your cloud service of choice. TrueNAS supports all major cloud-based storage providers, such as Amazon, Azure, Google Cloud, BackBlaze, and Dropbox. Alternatively, TrueNAS systems can replicate data with one another or even archive with other TrueNAS systems for larger deployments.
Plugins, Jails, and VMs
Choose from a suite of free Plugins that extend the functionality of your TrueNAS Mini and fill a variety of needs from shared media hosting to private cloud management. Plugins like Plex Media Server, NextCloud, Crashplan, and ZoneMinder help stream media, share files, automate extensive backup plans, and even allow control over IP cameras for surveillance.
Commercial Grade Hardware
Chassis are designed for ultra-quiet functionality to fit in any environment, whether its an office space, data center, or library. The TrueNAS Mini comes standard with Western Digital disk drives (CMR), the preferred drives of TrueNAS. Western Digital disk drives are well-known among the iXsystems Community Forum as a favorite for TrueNAS builds because of their legendary quality and stability. Regardless of your data, the TrueNAS Mini series saves it.
