Overview

The TrueNAS M60 is the flagship of the M-Series, delivering enterprise storage solutions with unparalleled performance and reliability for mission-critical operations at massive scale. With a 32-core controller, up to 1.5 TB of system memory across the series, and 12.8 TB of NVMe read cache backed by dual TrueCache® NVDIMM write caching, the M60 supports up to 30 PB of unified file, block, and S3-compliant object storage.

Designed with high-availability in mind, the M60 seamlessly integrates open-source economics with enterprise-grade hardware. With networking capabilities including four 100 GbE ports per controller and four 32 Gb FC ports, the M60 is adept at handling the most intensive IT workloads — from large-scale virtualization and media production to high-speed file sharing and backup operations running around the clock.

The TrueNAS M60 combines DRAM, dual TrueCache® NVDIMM write caching, and 12.8 TB of NVMe read cache with high-density disks for low-latency flash performance at disk capacity and cost. It supports up to four 100 Gb/s network ports per controller for maximum data throughput, making it the most capable platform in the M-Series lineup.

TrueCache® NVDIMM Technology

Dual TrueCache® NVDIMM modules deliver fast, reliable, low-latency write caching. Data is stored before writing to the ZFS pool, with protection and mirroring across controllers in HA configurations — surviving power loss without data loss.

Self-Healing Data Protection

Utilizing the OpenZFS file system, the M60 automatically detects and repairs in-flight data corruption before it reaches the disk, and identifies and scrubs bit rot and data decay across all 30 PB of pool capacity.

Up to 30 PB — the largest in the M-Series, 3× the M50's 10 PB ceiling. Designed for organizations that need HA hybrid economics at petabyte scale.

4× 100 GbE — exclusive to the M60 in the M-Series. The M50 caps at 2× 10/25/40/100 GbE. The 4-port configuration is built for many concurrent client streams.

The M60 is HA hybrid with HDDs and NVMe cache; the F100 is all-NVMe flash with the same dual-controller HA option. F100 wins on IOPS density; M60 wins on per-TB cost at hyperscale capacities.

Hyperscale HA hybrid: enterprise file shares with petabyte capacities, large backup repositories with multi-year retention, datasets too cost-prohibitive for all-flash but where HA failover is mandatory.
