As the entry model of the M-Series, the M30 supports unified file, block, and S3-compliant object storage across hybrid and all-flash configurations. With 800 GB SAS read cache, 16 GB SAS write cache, and expansion to 1.5 PB, the M30 handles virtualization, file sharing, and backup workloads in a 4U form factor.

Performance and Data Integrity

Performance & Scale Without Compromise

The TrueNAS M30 combines DRAM and NVMe/SSD with high-density disks for low-latency flash performance at disk capacity and cost. Utilizing the OpenZFS file system, the M30 automatically detects and repairs in-flight data corruption before it reaches the disk, identifies and scrubs bit rot and data decay, ensuring data integrity and reliability.

Intelligent Storage Optimization

The M30 optimizes storage with compression, snapshots, clones, and thin provisioning — all at no extra cost. TrueNAS Adaptive Compression (TAC) dynamically adjusts compression to enhance performance and maximize capacity efficiently.
